The rebuilding of Sutter's Mill has begun! We have started working on the shop drawings for rebuilding the historic Sutter's Mill, the site where gold was discovered in California in 1848. An article Paul wrote in 2002 Sutter's Mill TF63.PDF provides some interesting history about Sutter's Mill.

Eric wanted only four posts for his gazebo. He also wanted to use the garage in a waterproof condition, this is the design we came up with.

Covered bridge in Fiddletown, California was designed by Paul Oatman and engineered by Weatherby, Reynolds, and Fitchen. All timbers were milled on site by Leo Carter using a band saw mill.

Karmere Winery in the Shenandoah Valley, Plymouth, California We built 36 foot custom trusses to cover the tasting room.

Oatman Shop is 22 by 40 feet. All timbers and lumber were milled with a chain saw mill. The shop is based on a design by Jack Sobin and was engineered by Weatherby, Reynolds, and Fitchen.

Although this project is not a normal timber framed project the design of the roof and the fact that 6,000 esq. was added to the existing structure while at the same keeping the video store open during the whole operation we felt it should be listed. Paul was the project manager and roof cutter.
